As always we have lots of events planned see below important dates and reminders for your diary.
Reminder: Parent Teachers Committee (PTC) AGM: Tuesday 8th
This serves as a reminder that the PTC AGM will be on Tuesday 8th December. We will also be electing and ushering into office new Board Members for the School Board of Governors and PTC Members for 2015/2016. Please make every effort to be part of this special meeting.
Secondary School Production
Everyone will agree with me that it was worth coming along to support our students in action as they performed extracts from some well-known musicals and their course work pieces. Well done students and thank you teachers for all your hard work.
KS2 Swimming
Thank you very much to those of you who managed to support the children in this lovely event. We apologise for the gala running a little later than planned but we are pleased to say that the gala was a huge success for both our beginners and competitive swimmers. Thank you to all the teachers and sports department. I would like to clarify that a tuck shop was not planned for this event as it was hosted after lunch and during the house activity time. We wanted to avoid children running around with doughnuts and crisp packets when they were meant to be in the pool or waiting for a race. Children were asked to bring their juice bottle to the pool and tea and coffee was provided for parents.
Christmas Carol Service
As the end of term is almost upon us, preparations are in hand for our annual Christmas Carol Service at the Anglican Cathedral on Church Road. All parents and friends are welcome to come along and join us as we get the festive season under way at 18.30 on Thursday, 10th December 2015.
Tree of Joy
As always our staff and teachers have been active in our local community working at the Joseph Centre in Linda compound. Our work has culminated as always with our Tree of Joy, which quite literally brings a feeling of joy to all participants. It is through your generosity that the school has been able to continue with this event and we are extremely grateful for your continued support.

School Reports
Please note that the Primary end of term school reports will be issued on Thursday 10th December. Please make every effort to collect the report. It is very important to monitor the progress of your child in school.
Primary School Assembly: Friday 11th December:
Primary School Assembly Rec-Y6, will be at 7:30 and thereafter children will have their class parties. Please bring a plate of snacks to share with the class. This is always fun for the children and it marks their end of term 1. For further information on what to bring please discuss this directly with the class teacher.
Please note there are some classes who have suggested “Secret Santa”. We believe this really is a lovely idea but unfortunately there are some draw backs. For parents who have more than 1 child in school this becomes costly in this very difficult economic climate, also some parents do not wish to take part and then children are left out, or worse some parents forget to purchase a gift, or buy gifts which are inappropriate therefore without wishing to put a damper on anyone’s Christmas spirit we have decided against having ‘Secret Santa’ in school this year.
End of Term
The term ends at 13.00 hrs on 11th December after the Talent Show. Please note Primary school children will only be able to attend the talent show if this event is hosted outside as there will not be enough room in the hall. So please collect them from their classrooms as usual.
Parent Satisfaction Survey
I would like to thank all parents who took the time to complete our survey as the responses show genuine support for the school. The school will be reviewing all comments and will assess whether further changes need to be made. For anyone who has not completed the survey, it only takes a couple of minutes to do so on-line and we need your feedback.
Please remember that good communication is very important to us and we want to hear your views. You can contact the school at any time through your child’s homework diary, by email, a note to the school or pop in and see us.
Term 2
School opens on Tuesday, 12th January 2016 for students. Boarders return on Monday, 11th January 2016 after Lunch but all boarders must be in by 16.00hrs.

Please remember the afternoon activities programme does not start until the second week of the term to allow time for all students to make their choices.
